Prostatitis in men: symptoms and home treatment

pain in men with prostate

Prostatitis is an inflammation of the prostate (prostate) in men. According to statistics, this is the most common urological disease in the age group of 25 to 50 years. The main causes of the disease can be divided into 2 groups: infectious and non-infectious. In most reported cases, the causes of prostatitis are specifically non-infectious.

Many factors are involved in the development of the disease: smoking, hypothermia, regular consumption of alcohol, a sedentary lifestyle, infections in the genital tract, which eventually spread to the prostate. It can also adversely affect prostate health and tight footwear, allergic reactions, trauma, severe stress, constipation and prolonged urinary retention.

The impetus for the onset of the disease is usually low sexual activity or prolonged abstinence. Due to all these factors, hormonal changes occur, blood circulation to the pelvic organs is disrupted and lymphatic stasis occurs. This, in turn, lowers the immune system, which makes the prostate very vulnerable to infections and viruses.

Prostatitis can be divided into 3 forms: infectious, acute and chronic.

Causes of the infectious form can be different types of bacteria, viruses, fungi and Trichomonas. As a rule, the development of infectious prostatitis occurs due to the entry of sexually transmitted infections into the prostate. Most often these are infections such as chlamydia, syphilis, gonorrhea or trichomoniasis. Taking from the urinary tract and bladder into the prostate gland through the lymph or pelvic blood vessels, the infection impairs the blood supply to the prostate, causing blood clots or (in very rare cases) blood poisoning. But it does not always cause the development of inflammation - this requires the above factors, without which the disease can not appear.

The acute form of prostatitis is the leading cause of uncomfortable and painful sensations when you go to the toilet. Often, the patient also has a fever (up to 40 degrees), chills, malaise, pain in the perineum. In the acute form, prostate edema appears, due to which normal urination is disrupted. At the first symptoms, you should immediately schedule an appointment with a urologist, as any delay in treatment can lead to the transformation of the disease into a chronic form. At the same time, with acute prostatitis, the chances of complete recovery are almost always high, although complex treatment is required. It usually includes antiviral drugs, ultrasound, physical therapy, reflexology and prostate massage.

The chronic form of prostatitis develops 3-6 months after the onset of the acute form, if no treatment is performed. In this form, the disease may remain invisible for a long time, but under certain conditions, exacerbations are possible. The danger of prostatitis is that it can carry with it other much more unpleasant diseases: vesiculitis, fibrosis, inflammation of the appendages and then erectile dysfunction (impotence) and, as a result, infertility.

Treatment of prostatitis with folk remedies

Prostatitis in acute or complicated form is treated only in a hospital under the supervision of doctors. They perform a thorough diagnosis, PCR, uroflowmetry, do blood and urine tests, detect the presence of dangerous viruses or bacteria. And only then, depending on the reasons defined, are antibiotics, immunostimulants, lasers and physiotherapy prescribed. Severe cases may also require surgery.

Treatment of prostatitis at home will be effective only in the absence of complications, or with a relapse of the chronic form. Usually, folk remedies for prostatitis are created to reduce pain, boost immunity and help eliminate pelvic edema.

Squats for prostatitis

When the cause of prostatitis is inflammation (and not a bacterial infection), then there is a possibility that the disease is caused by a violation of the blood supply to the pelvis, which affects both the prostate and the muscles around it. And there is no better way to restore blood circulation than regular meetings. Try yourself first: straighten your arms, raise your head and do as many squats as possible.

These should be deep gatherings "to the end", that is, so that the pelvis does not delay at the level of the knees, and the trunk does not tilt forward, creating the illusion of performing the exercise. If you can do this exercise 80-100 times, then you have a good chance of healing. If you quickly develop leg and pelvic pain, this is a sure sign of leg muscle weakness and problems with blood circulation to the prostate and other pelvic organs.

You can not do this exercise every day, but limit yourself to 3 times a week. If you can not sit 80 times, then try to divide the execution in several ways: 4 times 20 times, 2 times 40 or 50 times. For maximum efficiency, the rest should not be too long - 3-5 minutes.

Also try completing squats with other exercises:

  • Raise your legs while lying on your stomach (about 20 times for access), but you should not do this exercise 100 times so as not to overestimate yourself;
  • Make "scissors": sit on the floor, find support for your hands behind your back, lift your legs in the air and cross them, leaving the right and left alternately at the top. With this exercise, too, do not overestimate yourself.

Along with erection, these exercises should give a total of 100-150 times - then treating prostatitis at home will be more effective and medication may not be required.

Other exercises for the prostate

  1. Lie on your back, bend your legs and place them on you - your knees should reach your face. With arms around legs, lie down for 3-20 minutes. This exercise for treating prostatitis will also be very effective, but you have to be very patient. And the longer you can stay in this position, the better. But do not overdo it! More than 20 minutes at a time are very discouraging.
  2. Perineal massage is also one of the most effective exercises against prostatitis. Do it in the morning, right after bed, to ease prostate overload.
  3. Another effective exercise is done right before your morning meal. Stay at your full height, bend your legs and do a third of your regular gathering. Lift in this position and start moving the knees forward one by one: left and then right. Do this exercise for 5 minutes. You can repeat the same thing in the evening. This is a rather complicated method and may not be easy, but if done regularly, you will get used to and be able to not only cure prostatitis, but also perform its regular prophylaxis.

Pumpkin seeds for prostate

Pumpkin seeds have long been known in the treatment of prostatitis. This is a very powerful folk remedy and at the same time affordable and cheap. They contain a large amount of zinc, which is necessary for a person of any age - his daily portion is contained in only 30 seeds. Just eat dried seeds before meals every day and you will see improvement quickly.

Another way is to peel a pound of seeds and pass them through a meat grinder. The main thing is that they are not fried, otherwise you will not get the desired effect. Add 200-250 grams of honey to them and mix. From the resulting mass, make small balls no less than one hazelnut. Store these balls in the refrigerator, placing some in advance before use.

Eat these balls one at a time half an hour before meals, twice a day. But do not swallow it quickly, but chew slowly for a few minutes. As a rule, such treatment is very effective, and one course a year will be enough to avoid relapses.

Treatment of prostatitis with hazelnuts

To prepare this product, you need either bark or leaves - both will be equally effective. You can also use them one by one, but it is advisable not to mix them. It is also important to remember that bark requires twice as much to create.

Bake 1 tablespoon of the product in 1 cup of boiling water, cover with a lid and let it bake for half an hour. Then drain and drink a quarter of a glass 4 times a day. For drinking, you can use both fresh and created 1-2 times, although fresh, of course, will be more effective. This medicine usually helps relieve the symptoms of prostatitis within a week.

Aspen bark from prostatitis

Aspen bark will be just as effective against prostatitis as hazelnut bark and leaves. To do this, the aspen bark must be collected before the fluid flow begins, before the buds and leaves begin to bloom. This usually happens in mid-April. The thickness of the bark can be any, but preferably from 3 mm.

The bark should be slightly dried in the shade or in the oven, and then take 100 grams, grind and pour into a jar 0, 5 liters. The bark is poured with 200 grams of vodka, but in order to completely cover it. Then the jar should be tightly closed and allowed to brew in a dark place for 2 weeks. Then drain the tincture through cheesecloth or a sieve.

Use an infusion of 20 drops in a quarter glass of water, 3 times daily before meals. Usually, the aspen tincture taken is enough for about 2 months.

Treatment of prostatitis with wormwood

Wormwood is a wonderful remedy for almost any inflammation in the genital tract, as it is very effective in killing a purulent infection. A complete remedy can be prepared from just 100 grams of dried wormwood herbs. It should be carefully cut and sifted through a kitchen strainer. The grass that has passed through it is suitable to be taken in dry form - dry wormwood, due to its strong bitterness, has a cleansing effect on the body, killing all kinds of infectious agents and parasites.

How is wormwood treated? The algorithm is simple:

  • To start, you will need to swallow a pinch of dry crushed grass for the first 3 days, washed down with water. This should be done every 2-3 hours, including at night. It does not matter if you do it before or after eating. It is very important that during these first 3 days you can not take a break, even at night. This is a rather difficult procedure, including due to the difficulty of swallowing the bitter herb, but such a course will help you not only in the fight against prostatitis, but also with any other infection.
  • In the second stage, you are required to drink wormwood 5-6 times a day, 4 days in a row, taking breaks only for the night.

Throughout this course, you should follow a strict diet. Otherwise, the strength of the treatment can be significantly reduced.

  • It is advisable to exclude bread or reduce its amount to 200 grams, but not fresh, but time to "stretch" a little;
  • Eliminate meat, fish, sausages, eggs, sweets, cheese and other dairy products from your diet;
  • Be sure to exclude alcohol and tobacco;
  • But at the same time, you can freely use a variety of cereals, nuts, fruits and sunflower oil.

During the course, you may feel a worsening of some underlying diseases, joint pain and general weakness.

Parsley for prostate

Parsley is an extremely healthy plant that has many medicinal properties. In particular, these include the ability to stop inflammation and normalize genital functions. In cooking, we use parsley because of its high taste, but in fact, it is a powerful medicinal herb and contains many useful trace elements and vitamins.

For example, 100 grams of parsley contains the daily requirement of vitamin A, which makes parsley very useful for the eyes. At the same time, the content of vitamin C in it is several times higher than in lemon. Parsley also contains inulin (natural insulin), which effectively regulates blood sugar levels and has a beneficial effect on the intestines.

To fight prostatitis, you should drink a tablespoon of parsley juice 3 times a day for half an hour before meals. You can also use chopped parsley seeds: pour a glass of boiling water over them and let them simmer for 15 minutes. Take broth 5-6 times a day for one tablespoon.

Treatment of prostatitis with herbs

The herbal remedy for prostatitis is a very old and proven remedy. For centuries, the recipes used in folk medicine have come to us virtually unchanged. Below we have listed the most effective of these recipes:

  • Squeeze the celandine juice from the newly selected stalk and mix with alcohol in 1 to 1 proportions. Take the infusion in the morning before breakfast. For the first time - one infusion drop per 50 grams of water, and then gradually increase the dose so that by the end of the month there are already 30 drops.
  • Another recipe for treating parsley: add grapes, hawthorn and valerian root to it. The plants should be cut and mixed, and then filled with a glass of boiling water. Then you need to drain the solution through cheesecloth and take half a glass 2 times a day. This infusion will be very effective for the infectious form of prostatitis.
  • To treat prostatitis with cloves, grind the dried plant and pour a glass of boiling water over it. Then everything is done as in the previous recipe: filter the tincture through cheesecloth and use half a glass.
  • Pink radish will be extremely effective against chronic prostatitis. You need to pour a glass of boiling water over a tablespoon of the minced roots of this plant and let it cook for an hour. The tincture is then filtered for half a glass 2 times a day (usually before breakfast and dinner).

It is worth noting that herbal treatment usually lasts much longer than treatment with other methods, including medication. Usually the course lasts from one month to six. However, the advantage of herbal treatment for prostatitis is usually that it is very effective in combating not only the symptoms but also the causes of the disease, which are usually hidden from the eyes. In addition, herbs rarely have side effects, unless you have allergies, and herbal remedies can be combined without any problems.

It is also important to remember: when using alcoholic tinctures, it is not advisable to consume them on an empty stomach, especially if you have problems with the gastrointestinal tract.

Prevention of prostatitis

Prevention is always easier and more profitable than curing it later. Therefore, you should know some simple secrets that will help avoid the development and complications of prostatitis:

  • Try not to sit for a long time without interruption, especially in an uncomfortable position;
  • Avoid hypothermia, especially in the pelvic area;
  • Also, avoid constipation and urinary retention - they are contributing a lot to the development of this disease.

Also, regular physical activity, which helps improve blood circulation to the pelvic organs, will be a very good preventative measure. An accurate, well-oiled diet will also contribute. It should be noted that these points will allow you to avoid many diseases that lie in wait for a person after 30 years.

Remember, instead of diagnosing yourself and trying to treat yourself at home, you should first consult an experienced therapist! Thus, you will avoid many troubles and possible complications.
